Premiere: Absurd Cosmos Late Nite – Landfill Indie Countered With Omnitrope

Following releases on UK-based label Research Laboratories and Australian imprint Index Clean, Melbourne’s Nice Music unleash their latest cassette album courtesy of DIY tape recordist, conversationalist and punk vocalist Mark Groves as Absurd Cosmos Late Nite.

Culminating in six audio montages, the intriguingly named album ‘Where The Sidewalks Are Safe For The Little Guy’ is a resplendent ode to oddball electronics, skewered sounds and too-high to say-hi downtempo riffs and melodies.

As the album plays, listeners are submerged into a lumbering narrative, which feels eerie and perhaps best described as a cassette player lethargically entering a state of delayed momentum and dramatically pitched down playback. Our pick is the second track ‘Landfill Indie Countered With Omnitrope‘  thanks to its guitar strums, shimmering aerial atmospheres and swamp like vocals.

‘Where The Sidewalks Are Safe For The Little Guy’ is scheduled for release on 18th July via Nice Music. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
