A.dixen: Death Tapes Vol.2

Made to be experienced as a whole rather than broken down for its stand-out parts, Death Tapes Vol.2 creates an enveloping feeling of airiness and soothing serenity over the course of its twelve finely woven units, balancing the scopic width of its sound design with sharp junglistic onslaughts and full-out breaksy moves bound to make a lasting impact both on and off the dance floor.

Don’t DJ

Ahead of Under The Desert Stars, a unique experimental music event taking place within the alien landscape of the Moroccan desert between 27 – 29 September, Don’t DJ serves up over an hour of eerie, mystique-imbued groove eclecticism, ranging from spaced-out techno to sweat-inducing dancehall, through traditional Middle-Eastern rhythms and other downtempo oddities. Lock in and dream away.

Lee Gamble: In A Paraventral Scale

‘In A Paraventral Scale’ is the first part of ‘Flush Real Pharynx’, a triptych being released via Hyperdub throughout 2019, accompanied by a new audio-visual live show. According to Gamble, the work is a “sonic documentary”, aiming to explore the “three stages of the Semioblitz” – the aggressive onslaught of visual and sonic stimuli of contemporary cities and virtual spaces.

Music Video: Yves Tumor – Noid

The video depicts Sean Bowie being arrested and assaulted by police officers on the streets of downtown Los Angeles, raising the widespread issue of police brutality in the USA.

Howes: Cold Storage

‘Cold Storage’ is free-form and experimentalist, the sound of an artist exploring his tools and their exponential capabilities. It rarely feels random or unconsidered, just weird, cryptic and beautiful.

Eszaid

Following the release of his second album ‘Eurosouvenir’, it is our great pleasure to welcome Eszaid to our mix series, as he steps up with over an hour-long of harsh dungeon beats, jagged anti-techno and so-called leftfield swerves.
