Premiere: Amphior – Under The Stars

Rome-based record label Glacial Movements prepare to unveil the sophomore album from Danish electronic musician Mathias Hammerstrøm, better known as Amphior.

With previous outings on Loodma and Shipwrec, Hammerstrøm dissolves the notion of sonic boundaries, distilling vast Arctic ice field into sparse, time-stretched compositions. ‘Disappearing‘ emerges as a quiet storm – an 11-track suite of meditative unease, where snow-blind piano echoes, spectral siren calls and tape-worn guitar whispers coalesce into a collection of ice-capped erosion and memory loss. Like auroras flickering through polar night, the album shifts between post-folk dream-states and ambient reveries.

Under The Stars’ unspools like an icy reverie – layer upon layer of stretched-out synth vapour, subaquatic bass and distorted analog hauntings. As if mapping out the constellations of a lost psyche, the track unearths deep-seated anxieties beneath blood-red skies, pulling the audience into a twilight realm where solitude and the infinite collide.

‘Disappearing’ is scheduled for release 14th March via Glacial Movements. Buy a CD from Bandcamp.
