Premiere: Balouu – Never Level

Hot on the heels of their debut 12-inch released a few weeks ago, a VA four-tracker featuring some of the city’s hottest prospects, Bristol’s Pressure Dome returns in time for Xmas with a hefty sack of goodies, gathering multi-source heat from a wide array of rising UK talents including label head Yushh, Outsider, Kamiokande, Sonic, Mulengasound et al. Extra merry EOY celebrations bonus in these times of icy chill, all proceeds will go to Caring in Bristol, a homeless charity providing services and shelter for those most in need. No greater way to spend your money.

Our premiere, ‘Never Level‘, comes courtesy of local boy Balouu, glimpsed dishing out a Super Mario-influenced churner on the label’s previous. This time, the hazed-out martial riddim draws on a sample-heavy mix of screeching tyres sounds, pulsating UK bass drum programming, heavy-lidded eastern harmonics and flocks of processed studio FX on a platform game-y tip. True to his signature boundary-crushing blender of styles, revolving around playfully hectic rhythmic interplays and lawless collagism, this one’s got cheeky floor heater written all over it.

PDCOMP001 is released via Pressure Dome on 6th December, pre-order a copy from Bandcamp.
