Utrecht-based record label United Identities line up ‘Gentle Actions’, a smoke-hazed vinyl release from Amsterdam-based producer Beraber.
Written and produced in his Amsterdam studio – housed in the building that was once home to De School, Beraber delivers a nocturnal blueprint bringing together some of his most cherished productions, welding dusty Chicago machinery to the uncharted corners of acid house, rounded off with a remix from São Paulo-based producer Zopelar.
Our pick from the EP is ‘Lost In Loops’. Laden with kick-drums soaked in soft distortion, nocturnal funk fuelled synth progressions and bouncy basslines coiled around pads, distorted vocals stir up the funk and increase the rhythmic drive. Fusing vulnerability and rhythm into a velvet hypnosis, Beraber offers a sanctuary for those willing to lose themselves in the dance.
