To coincide with the release of Blomfelt’s debut album on Istanbul-based record label Oath, today we present the premiere of standout track ‘Apathy‘.
Blomfelt is a Finnish musician, visual artist, curator and event producer based in London. He produces as Evigt and is also one half of the duo Blomfelt & Narby, who issued their debut album last year via Atomnation, the experimental record label helmed by Pascal Terstappen aka Applescal.
Mastered by Rafael Anton Irisarri (aka The Sight Below) at Black Knoll Studios in NYC, Blomfelt’s inaugural full length traverses ambient house, breakbeat and glitched out electronica, sitting somewhere between the lines of contemporaries including Rising Sun, DJ Healer plus a smidgen of AFX.
Spanning 6 tracks, ‘I’m Interested In Apathy‘ is said to be “a finely balanced plethora of sonic stimulation that piques movement as well as memories” – indeed, whilst listening through the album, an overwhelming sense of emotion and atmosphere is evident throughout the album.
Our pick ‘Apathy‘ is testament to a distant memory of open-air events in the height of summer. Shimmering with synth work, breaks and vocal snippets that are reminiscent of DJ Healer and Rising Sun ‘Poems On Healing A Broken Heart’ EP. Prepare yourself to enter another dimension – tune in, zone out and drop out.
‘I’m Interested In Apathy’ is scheduled for release on 14th February via Oath. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
