Following up Orlando Voorn’s ‘Slasher’ EP in May, UK-based record label npm line up the debut album release from Berlin-based production duo DEFTR – the newly formed alias of Answer Code Request and Jan Wagner.
Mastered by Alain Paul, ‘Run Away’ presents 8-tracks of machine-forged electronics swerving through twilight realms of industrial techno rhythms, enriched by immersive ambient soundscapes and fractured neoclassical motifs, resulting in deeply immersive and haunting soundscapes.
Our pick from the album is the synth-driven dancefloor weapon ‘twentysix’, fusing fierce techno energy with ethereal melodies and textured oscillations, drum patterns are anchored by light-hearted basslines, building up a thrilling climax of digital ecstasy and a high-octane voyage of sonic liberation.
