Premiere: DJ Failure – Want 2

Continent-straddling label Club Designs is run by Garneau and Sharkki. Based in Paris and Vancouver respectively, they’re united by a shared love of high-energy dance music of various forms.

The imprints next release is part two of a homage to Detroit electro. Eight artists deliver their own interpretations of the sound, featuring contributions from the label bosses themselves as well as a handful of fresh new faces.

Our pick comes from Brooklyn-based DJ Failure who returns to the label following a collaboration with Garneau on the label’s first release. ‘Want 2’ balances explosive low-end pressure with utmost precision. Lending the track added its distinct rhythmic flavour, it’s the carving up of vocals where the artist really shines.

‘CDMUSIC005’ is scheduled for release 13 May via Club Designs. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
