Sixteen years since their inaugural release, Milan-based record label 51 Beats gear up to issue ‘QUBISM‘ LP from classical composer and artificial intelligence visionary Eduardo Reck Miranda.
In a groundbreaking exploration of human-machine interfaces, Brazilian composer Miranda reveals a captivating collection of six tracks crafted entirely on quantum computers. This world premiere showcases the innovative ‘Lumina Grooves‘ series—comprising tracks 1, 2, and 3—born from a highly-arranged piece commissioned for the Komplementārās Pretrunas festival in Riga. The album also features ‘Spinnings‘ and ‘Swirling Qubits‘ vibrant live recordings generated using the Q1Synth software synth. Rounding out the collection, ‘Zeno 2.0‘ offers a dynamic fusion of classical instrumentation, including alto flute and bass clarinet, interwoven with synthesized sounds from quantum technology.
‘Swirling Qubits‘ stands out due to its multiplex of computer echoes. In a daring 13-minute odyssey, Miranda crafts a whimsical soundscape teeming with kinetic arpeggios that channel space age frequencies. Distant signals flicker like stars, while deconstructed drum patterns swirl into a captivating blackout. This avant-garde sonic exploration unveils a cosmic playground of sound technology, paving the way for the mesmerizing science of mutant oscillations.
‘QUBISM’ is scheduled for release 25 October via 51 Beats. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
