Berlin-based imprint Distant Gaze sharpen their sonic gaze with ‘Thistles‘, the sophomore single from Sofia-based producer and vocalist Fille, heralding the arrival of her forthcoming full-length album.
A restless explorer in the oversaturated wilderness of digital soundscapes, Fille has carved a niche across avant-garde sounds. With ‘Thistles‘, she conjures UFO-laced avant-pop, fractured breakbeats, and surreal IDM – bolstered with a remix from Berlin-based producer Clouzer, plunging the track into shadowy corners of the mind.
Our pick from the release, Clouzer’s rework of ‘Thistles‘, descends into a dreamstate of breaks slithering through space-echoed caverns. As the tension unravels, arpeggios sprout like thorn-covered flora in barren landscapes, their synthetic glow pulsing in the metropolis. Unfolding at 130 BPM, the track mutates into a high-speed dance of spectral entities.
