After reissuing UK-based label Mindscan Tapes and releasing music from multi-instrumentalist Charlotte Leclerc and synth wizard Patrick Michaud, Paris-based imprint Delodio line up their fourteenth release ‘Synch Unity‘, courtesy of French digi-dub duo F.M. (François Marché) and Fafane (Stéphane Bodin) – better known as Froid Dub.
Over the years of composing and touring with different bands such as the electro-rock Blackmail, new wave trio Prototypes, Bosco or Panti Will, they have developed into multi-instrumental sound pioneers specialized in post-punk experiments and dub promenades interwoven with flecks of minimal synthwave. As a result, their sixth release, ‘Synch Unity‘ navigates through dubbed-out swamps, drowsy poetry and high-spirited ambient.
Our pick from the release is ‘Bass‘ – thanks to its ceremonial rhythms amplified with space-echoed snares, cherubic whispers and supernatural synths. It truly feels like a polar dub tribute to post-punk ancestors set amidst the calving of icebergs on Aleutian islands.
‘Synch Unity’ is scheduled for release on 29th November via Delodio. Order a vinyl copy from Bandcamp.
