Premiere: Galati – As still as these high mountains

Two months after the release of ‘Pithovirii‘ from Canadian producer Aidan Baker, Glacial Movements gear up to issue the debut solo album from Italian producer Galati.

Consisting of 8 compositions, ‘Cold As A February Sky‘ plunges listeners into majestic peaks of dark ambient and ethereal experimental electronics. Throughout the album, Galati delivers an introspective mind trip, filled with post-rock textures, drifting experimental and dark ambiance.

Our pick from the album is ‘As Still As These High Mountains‘ – mastered by Rafael Anton Irisarri aka The Sight Below at Black Knoll Studios, the track shifts from meditative guitar riffs to rasping walls of texture thick soundscapes, drawing out variations on a glacial landscape over 7-minutes. Be under no illusions, this is a pristine piece of dark ambient, meticulously carved into the permafrost.

‘Cold As A February Sky’ is scheduled for release on 10th May via Glacial Movements. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
