Today, we celebrate the reissue of Tbilisi-based maverick Mamuka Tskhadaia, better known as Hamatsuki. Originally released in 2018 on Dream Machine Records, ‘Sea Of Nothingness‘ gets a second life with two previously self-released tracks on Madrid-based imprint Apnea.
Usually providing bare-knuckle cuts inside Bassiani’s warehouse, Hamatsuki has been contributing massively to the Caucasian techno myth with previous releases on Fantastic Planet, Warsaw-based imprint GASP and Horoom among others. Spread over three tracks, ‘Sulitkveteba‘ EP presents a frosty skydive OST deploying middle earth echoes and eerie acid aesthetics.
Our pick for the premiere is ‘Sulitkveteba‘ – a wake-up call for after-party dwellers coming back to life on the Lake Lisi shore. Featuring meditative arpeggios, hi-hat machinery and syncopated utterances, Hamatsuki paints a picture of paradise in wax.
‘Sulitkveteba’ EP is scheduled for release on 11th December via Apnea Records. Order a vinyl copy from Bandcamp.
