Following the release of ‘Aurora‘ under the Lux & Hermetics banner in April, Buenos Aires-based record label Othernessrec are set to unveil ‘Vertigo of Eternity’, the latest offering from label boss Santiago Nino aka Hermetics.
Drawing from the musings of Bernardo Kastrup, a Brazilian-Dutch philosopher and computer scientist, whose ideas about the vertigo sensation during ego-death experiences with curative plants are central to the concept, Hermetics distills this existential plunge into a 17-track album delivering a mind-expanding fusion of visceral braindance, feverish breakbeats and chugged-out trance elements.
Our pick ‘Back In The Day’ offers a glimpse into Hermetics’ visionary realm – a sultry, high-energy crypt where space-drenched breakbeats collide with an eerie tension. As the track unfurls, it’s a heady blend of nostalgic reflections, punctuated by relentless acid bass and syncopated vocal snippets that evoke the feverish pursuit of transcendence from the ‘90s rave scene.
