Premiere: Invictus Hi-Fi – The Last Broadcast

Following his ‘The Market Deities’ LP released in May 2021, British experimental sorcerer Invictus Hi-Fi returns with the seven-track ‘The Vanishing‘ LP on the obscure imprint Arklive.

As an ode to his longtime heroes Boards Of Canada or Steve Reich, ‘The Vanishing‘ LP presents a collection of seven preternatural soundtracks broadcasting corrupted frequencies from mad scientists secluded in outlandish territories. Throughout the release, Invictus Hi-Fi combines spaced-out post-punk, dark ambient, kosmische oscillations, interplanetary folk and freaky experimental.

Our pick for the premiere is ‘The Last Broadcast‘ – thanks to its ancestral transmission from a high-redshift galaxy in the constellation Ursa Major. With its sluggish breakdown, astral swirls of arpeggios, slackened guitar riffs and post-nuclear rhythms enriched with thumping kickdrums are the hallmarks of a man-made disclosure blasting off a never-ending cruise through the matrix.

‘The Vanishing’ LP is scheduled for release on 3rd May. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
