Fourteen months since his debut release on Berlin-based imprint Warning, JCow lines up his follow up EP on Melbourne’s burgeoning Potatoheadz Records.
Established in 2017 by Nipuna Jayasekera, Sedgwick & Leon Wan, Potatoheadz’ limited but diverse discography has been stamped across CD’s, cassettes and vinyl. Two years since their fourth record release, Potatoheadz now enlist JCow, aka Josh Cowgill, to deliver their fifth.
Consisting of three solo tracks, plus a ‘swampbuggy‘ remix from 3XL regular Exael, ‘In my elem3nt7‘ was produced by the Berlin-based producer during the pandemic in 2020, exploring experimental strains of break-laden beats, drum and bass, trance and IDM.
Our pick is the title track ‘in my elem3nt7‘ – 7 minutes of reverb soaked and metallic breakbeat, dramatised with Q-Project inspired ‘Champion Sound‘ rave horns, resulting in a truly outer-dimensional EP for the heads.
‘In my elem3nt7’ is scheduled for release on 3 June via Potatoheadz Records. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
