Since establishing a couple years ago, London-based imprint Tomahawk focused its efforts on offering a platform of expression to new, unheard producers from all around the globe. Incepted with an EP from Aussie duo Anthony Fade, who’s since graced the grooves of Shall Not Fade and its Lost Palm satellite as well as UTTU’s sister label House Crime, the label series has since kept promoting new talents such as LKR boss Lou Karsh aka Reptant and Babylon Barsebäck.
Fresh addition to the label’s roster, German prospect Jurchen strikes hard with his propulsive intergalactic debut offering, due out in all good record stores mid-March. Flexing muscles over our channels today is the fearless title-track ‘Space Adventures‘ – a mind-bending electromagnetic bomb burrowing through lysergic Sci-Fi sceneries and blazing wormholes at turbo speed.
Sure to throw the club’s pressure gauge out of gear, this one fuses plain addictive ’80s-style synthwork, automated vox samples and pumping breaks with tasteful style and true balls of steel. Beware the Goa’ulds, check your laser blasters – it’s time to activate the portal. Jurchen’s landing soon near you and we strongly advise you save up on a couple pints to snag a copy of this essential spacey belter.
Space Adventures is released via Tomahawk on 16th March, pre-order a copy from Bandcamp.
