Releasing on Apron Records, FXHE and Mike Grant’s record label Moods & Grooves – grand master Kyle Hall delves into the footsteps of the notorious Motor City house aesthetics with ‘The Cosmic Touch‘ EP – a maze-like set of highly efficient MPC drum rhythms, euphonious synth progressions and speed-shifting acid oscillations.
Our pick from the release is ‘Phantom‘ – a phantasmal tribute to blue-collar spirits patrolling the mecca of electronic music. Hall’s elegance in integrating supernatural textures with sci-fi-infused synths and intricacies in groove arrangements would dredge any rusty turbine.
