Following up the release of ‘wow, x‘ from maya dhondt, Ghent-based record label Viernulvier are set to unveil ‘A House Where I Dream’ in October from Belgian saxophonist Mattias De Craene.
After years of crafting and performing with the jazz-rock supergroup Nordmann and the trance-inducing trio MDCIII, De Craene makes a striking return with his sophomore solo album. Drawing profound inspiration from Alejandro Jodorowsky’s cinematic masterpiece The Holy Mountain (1973), positioning himself as a conduit for elevated sonic realms, weaving a tapestry of psyched-out soundscapes, puzzling drone and celestial brass ballads.
Our pick from the album is ‘You And Me‘. Offering a mesmerising 5-minute reverie, the Ghent-based virtuoso ventures into ethereal dimensions, artfully blending celestial chants, space-echoed ambient textures and FX-drenched saxophone melodies lines to create a truly out-of-body experience.
‘A House Where I Dream’ is scheduled for release on 11 October via Viernulvier. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
