Premiere: Måtyrer – Tempel

Cologne-based record label Brutalism prepare to release their debut 8-track various artist compilation.

Brutalism Live At St. Gertrud’ celebrates the concrete monument designs of Gottfried Böhm with excerpts from live recordings made inside Saint Gertrud’s church in Cologne. Bringing together three producers Måtyrer, Iomi and Dorner, the compilation explores a synthesis of deep cemented soundscapes combined with experimental textures, neo-classical symphonies and dark ambient.

Our pick from the compilation is ‘Tempel‘ by Måtyrer. Mastered by Leon Bölting at Arclab Studios, it feels like passing through a dusty superstorm of tarnishing frequencies intertwined with anxious yet sorrowful melodies tailored for dystopian creatures hovering in a cyber-minded metaverse.

‘Brutalism Live At St. Gertrud’ is scheduled for release on 21st June via Brutalism. Order a copy from Beatport.
