New York based record label Scissor & Thread are a tight knit collective of multi-faceted composers, vocalists and instrumentalists that are focused on “talent, not tracks.” Headed up by Francis Harris, the imprint has championed music from the likes of Bob Moses, Frank & Tony, DJ Aakmael, Desert Sound Colony and Aris Kindt.
Their latest signing is Alexander Albrecht, a Melbourne-based composer and producer who records under the name Melquíades. His first solo outing, ‘Blue Caves’ is a five-track “exercise in deep and meditative atmospheres” that builds on the rich and melancholic deep house sound that the label are known for.
We’re excited to premiere “Morning Breeze“, a track from the EP that’s as gentle and languid as the title suggests. Blissful piano chords and floating synthesizers drift somnolently over a steady, mid-tempo pulse: it’s the sonic equivalent of a Sunday morning lie-in.
“Morning Breeze” is out now via Scissor & Thread. Pre-order a copy from Bandcamp.
