Founded in April 2024 with a split release from co-founder Ritmu, Australian imprint DU:RA has quickly mapped out its sound through a series of digital outings, drawing on strands of deep techno, house and bass-driven electronics. The label now marks a new chapter with its first vinyl release, delivered by fellow co-founder n-trip.
The four-track EP highlights n-trip’s approach to sound design and atmosphere, moving fluidly between submerged textures, heavyweight rhythms and raw machine energy. Opening track ‘Domina‘ sets the tone, a clear nod to Maurizio and Carl Craig’s revered M3, balancing deep-rooted dub techno sonics with a steady, immersive flow. ‘MML‘ follows, built around a pounding bass drum and flickering glacial synths, maintaining a taut tension across its runtime.
On the reverse, ‘dddBBB‘ injects a rough-edged, hardware-driven character that recalls Berlin-based production duo Annanan. The record closes with ‘MR13‘, where low-end drums and woodblock stabs drive forward momentum, bringing together percussive detail and a rolling 4/4 framework. As DU:RA step into the physical realms, ‘DR004′ underlines the label’s vision and commitment to a sound rooted in depth, texture and the dancefloor.
DR004 is scheduled for release on 16th October via DU:RA. Order a vinyl copy from Inverted Audio Record Store and digital from Bandcamp.
