Aotearoa-based record label Strangelove – specialist in reissuing forgotten gems – drop the second outing of the compilation concept series ‘Elsewhere Junior‘, curated by Belgian multi-faceted digger and producer soFa elsewhere.
Following various curated compilations on Amsterdam-based label Kalahari Oyster Cult, the excellent Emotional Response imprint and Kenneth Bager’s label Music For Dreams – ‘Elsewhere Junior II‘ unearths a collection of spaced-out children’s songs.
Consisting of 15 tracks, the compilation delves into early leftfield, kosmische boogie and wide-eyed bootlegs. Our pick from the release is ‘How Do We Make The Babies‘ – a baby-making tutorial conducted by Brussels-based producer Naomie Klaus. Featuring oddball synths, post-punk grooves, and playground talk, the track explores the insatiable curiosity of children growing up in a busy world.
‘Elsewhere Junior II’ is scheduled for release 6 October via Strangelove . Order a copy from Bandcamp.
