Sometimes the name of a label says it all about the content hidden between its grooves and Serious Trouble is perhaps the finest example of that. Having demonstrated a natural inclination for hard-cast electronics, frantic psychedelia and predatory techno beats, the German imprint has grimy floor twister written all over it.
Expect their newest instalment, ‘Voice Of A Generation‘ – to continue in the direction set out by the label’s previous outings. Chock full with old-school rave tropes, off-piste industrial detours and hyperflexible breakbeat, the debut EP from the enigmatic Nasty King Kurl is sure to lay waste to all dancefloors with its pulsating mashup of goofy electro and surgical club precision.
On the menu of the title-track, a hurricane of rattling jungle drums, acidic bounce and mangled vox salvos sieved through a thick sauce of delays and tape echo, twirling high in the sky before lashing upon dancers and movers with unrestrained brunt. Put on your oilskin and get ready to weather the storm.
Voice Of A Generation is released via Serious Trouble in July. Till then you can pre-order directly from the label by sending an email to contactserioustrouble@gmail.com. More details here.
