After a number of releases showcasing the contemporary side of the European bass scene, French label Nehza Records join forces with Porto-based imprint XXIII for a special 10-track compilation.
Assembling a blasting syndicate consisting of Welsh producer Aloka, Maloca’s lead honcho Le Motel and latin techno sensation CRRDR among others, “NEHZA XXIII” spans shape-shifting breaks, sweat dripping Carioca funk and experimental reggaeton. The compilation is a landmark in Latin-American electronic music. As the legendary Brazilian producer DJ Marlboro once said, “Funk is union”.
With several releases on Los Angeles record label TAR, Cosmic Compositions and his own imprint Maloca Records, the Belgian producer and graphic designer Le Motel teams up with Bordeaux-based DJ and producer Neida for ‘Sweatin” – an alert clock for circadian rhythm experts blended with high-speed footwork, silky synthesiser textures and syncopated funk vocals. Although your mind seems still asleep, your body might be already performing a deadlift.
