Succeeding the ‘Invisible Ink’ release from Charlie Hall in May 2023, Oaxaca-based label El Triángulo returns with the five-track remix compilation – courtesy of Brooklyn-based sound savant Eugene Tambourine, better known as North Satellite.
Following releases from Tummy Touch and Darshan Jesrani’s label Startree, ‘The Stars Are Ours Remixes‘ delivers a dewy-eyed twist to North Satellite’s previous album ‘Past Life Half-Lived‘ – released in March 2023. As part of this release, North Satellite weaves a consortium of dubbed-out disco, mellow house and modern funk with remixes operated by London-based producer Conrado.
Our pick from the release is Conrado‘s vocal dub of ‘The Stars Are Ours‘ produced by North Satellite – from its vaporous synth pads, through its interstellar chants to its full-bodied percussions, the frontman of Idjut Boys crafted a killer shortcut for spaced-out dancefloors.
