Premiere: Patås – Bontelabo

Oslo-based imprint LEK line up their fifth release with the highly anticipated ‘Ole’ EP from label founder and producer Patås.

A cornerstone of the Norwegian electronic scene, Patås follows up previous outings on Dugnad Rec and his own imprint LEK with a deeply personal and emotionally charged extended player. A homage to flesh and spirit, ‘Ole’ is a poignant four-tracker exploring grief, reflection and transcendence. Seamlessly weaving together ambient, tear-jerking house and techno, it offers a blurring exploration pushing the boundaries of collective catharsis.

At the heart of the release lies ‘Bontelabo’, a track that submerges listeners in an icy deep-sea plunge. Opening with an eerie cascade of drone-like textures, it conjures visions of frozen horizons and spectral fjords. The track builds slowly, drawing you into its glacial grip before erupting with pulse-quickening techno that barrel like stormy currents. As ‘Bontelabo’ reaches its zenith, it transforms into a mesmerising symphony of submarine signals, oscillating between moments of meditative stillness and full-throttle dancefloor energy.

‘Ole‘ is scheduled for release 24 January via LEK. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
