Premiere: Philipp Stolberg – Palisander

Zurich-based producer Philipp Stolberg resurfaces from the creative void with ‘The Dog Under The Lantern’, a sophomore album imbued with profound existential depth released on Futur8000.

Leading listeners through a labyrinth of drone soundscapes, ‘The Dog Under The Lantern‘ weaves eight polar ambient textures with field recordings, creating an introspective odyssey that feels both eerily familiar and boldly uncharted. The album’s artwork, crafted using a double-exposure cyanotype technique, mirrors its essence, a tactile manifestation of Stolberg’s ability in engaging within his ecosystem.

Standout track ‘Palisander’, is like wandering through a wooden labyrinth of modular synths and machine-driven heartbeats. A testament to Stolberg’s creative brilliance, the piece summons the spectral presence of fragmented trees, their digital echoes pulsating in harmony with a sense of empathy. Ethereal ambient tones gently usher the audience into a realm where the organic and synthetic entwine, creating a hauntingly immersive experience.

‘The Dog Under The Lantern‘ is scheduled for release 24th January. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
