Premiere: RAFF – Pain

A proud inheritor of Rotterdam’s intricate musical DNA, Dutch producer RAFF has been around honing his DJ and production skills through first quality shows for local station Operator Radio and Amsterdam’s fabled Red Light Radio. Now set to take the plunge into the world of original music providers, Rafique preps for the landing of his much anticipated debut 12″, ‘Stella‘, out via BAKK on September 30.

Lifted from that tasty quintet of sleek-textured, Afrofuturistic machine-funk jams under strong Detroit electro influence, our premiere ‘Pain‘ will have you zoning out in a flash. As rattling drums convulse a bed of ghostly, melancholic synths, RAFF keeps shifting the focus throughout, zooming in and out of each envelope in some kind of self-revealing, visceral process, and with him we gleefully sink into a multi-layered gem of deeply emotional, though no short of dynamic, dance music.

Stella is released via BAKK on 30th September, pre-order a copy from Bandcamp.
