Brooklyn-based production duo Sandy resurface with ‘Everyday Nostalgics’, their long-awaited debut album, an enigmatic exploration of self-made artistry that dissects the unsettling beauty of introspection.
With a penchant for after-hours experimentation and years of sonic tinkering under their belt, Jeff Carter and Stephen Pathe deliver their most refined and spellbinding work to date. Spread across nine intricately woven tracks, ‘Everyday Nostalgics’ stirs a heady brew of twisted IDM mechanics, ethereal ambient textures and electronics that unravel like whispered secrets in the dark. It invites the audience to sink deeper, past the waking hours and into the half-lit terrain of lucid dreams.
‘In the Dust’ is a hypnotic standout that feels like stepping through a doorway to the inner cosmos. The stretched-out hums and airy synth oscillations form a womb-like cocoon, while glitchy arpeggios flutter like faint echoes ricocheting through endless passageways. It’s an ode to the quiet glow that emerges in the recesses of our minds, offering a meditative soundtrack that feels like a soft collapse of time itself.
‘Everyday Nostalgics’ is scheduled for release on 17th January. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
