Making headway with only a fragment of time within the music industry, upcoming micro-house producer Saudade has garnered support with his first few productions. So much so that it’s lead to the remix of KX900 on effervescent house label Pont Neuf’s Baie de Room Vol. II, earlier on this year.
Fast forward a few months, and Pont Neuf have signed Saudade with his debut for the label in the ‘Xango‘ EP, and it’s easy to see why. Packed with gems like ‘O Samba‘ and ‘Sonha‘, Xango is Doubting Thomas meets samba in a catchy EP infused with rolling drums and synths.
Wafts of notes and influence from Brazilian percussion are the rampant rhythms tingeing Saudade’s signature minimal house vibe. The EP has been picked up all over the shop, and Inverted Audio are premiering the last track on the release.
‘O Funk‘ sees Saudade expanding his wings into darker knocks, experimenting with warping ambience to close up the extended play in slight disorderliness. Drawing parallels to the lighter moments and showcasing a different side to the Parisian producers work – we don’t think it will be long till Saudade gains more attention for himself.
‘Xango’ EP is scheduled for release 12 June. Order a copy here.
