Following up ‘Lust & Defiance’ from Future City Punks in September, Berlin-based record label Ombra International return with ‘Chiodi’, a brooding extended player from SLF IMG, the duo of Umberto Cavalloni and Giacomo Stefani.
Enlisting the deft touch of Luca Venezia, SLF IMG descend into a smoky, sweaty basement teeming with nocturnal dancers surrendering to their most primal urges. Across three tracks, ‘Chiodi’ is a decadent dance where synth-punk grit meets hefty EBM, draped in the shimmering allure of dark disco.
Our pick is ‘Digging’ – a kinetic, high-voltage blend of delay-soaked rhythms and spooky tension. Anchored by an acid-drenched bassline unfolding like an unsettling dream, its reflective monologue on the essence of digging evokes the restless pursuit of dystopian transcendence.
