Rotterdam-based techno label Planet Rhythm return to the grid with ‘Gavea Grooves‘ EP from Brooklyn-based producer Tommy Value.
Following an appearance on Boston-based imprint INFRA, Tommy Value unveils six tracks, bridging four-to-the-flour momentum with razor-sharp percussive geometries for the rave. ‘Gavea Grooves’ marks a striking addition to the steady discography of Planet Rhythm, navigating a zone of reaffirming techno.
Our pick is ‘Gavea Groove’ – a bare knuckle 143 BPM pressure valve prised open. Equal parts blackout euphoria and trance-inducing magma, the track dissolves into a whirlwind of techno polyrhythms elevated with tension-heavy synth progressions, celestial whistles and syncopated chants echoing through a high-pressure dream state.
‘Gavea Grooves‘ EP is scheduled for release 13th June via Planet Rhythm. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
