Premiere: Voyou – Houseman (Stockholm Syndrome AU Revamp)

Ghent-based powerhouse Eskimo Recordings resurface with ‘Next Wave Acid Punx Revamps‘, a deep dive into the shadowy intersections of EBM, post-punk, and proto-techno.

Unearthing long-lost dancefloor relics and reanimating them with razor-sharp precision, this various artists compilation brings together a trio of dark disco sculptors including Berlin-based producer Curses, Andi and NEIN’s alumni Stockholm Syndrome AU, each injecting a fresh dose of machine-driven futurism into these archival oddities.

Our pick from the release is Stockholm Syndrome AU’s electrifying overhaul of Voyou’s ‘Houseman‘ – a 6-minute descent into EBM delirium, where dark bass hypnosis, scalpel-edged drum programming and celestial synth cascades collide under a canopy of mind-warping lasers. Warping the track’s DNA into a high-voltage, peak-time anthem, the Melbourne-based producer channels the demented energy of new beat’s golden era, slicing and dicing vocals into a corrupted dance speech.

‘Next Wave Acid Punx Revamps’ is scheduled for release on 6th February via Eskimo Recordings. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
