Rotterdam-based imprint Feed The Void gear up to issue the much-anticipated ‘De Wandeling‘ EP from local hero xceptor, blending five tracks of interplanetary electro, mutant breakbeats and slow-burning EBM, all infused with a powerful surge of high-fidelity techno.
Our pick is the opening track ‘Paranoïde Boswandeling’. Veering off the tranquil shores of the North Sea, xceptor transports listeners on a haunting midnight trek through shadow-laden woodlands, opening up with a tense brew of anxiety-soaked soundscapes, punctuated by ghostly, reverberating church bells.
As you begin to acclimatise to the tension, the track delves into a bone-chilling breakbeat anthem, driven by earth-shattering kick-drums and sci-fi synth oscillations. The result is a disorienting track, where you’re left entangled in a dense, sonic underbrush—trapped in a labyrinth of sound that feels both UFO and unsettlingly familiar.
‘De Wandeling’ is scheduled for release on 13th September via Feed The Void. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
