Portuguese producer Rave Child returns later this month to release their first set of new material in over a year. ‘Planeta Próprio’ is out via the artist’s Kokölò imprint, and features four tracks of deep, propulsive techno with an ambient bent suitable for both the clubs and the chill out spaces.
Our pick is the title track, “Planeta Próprio“. Weaving IDM and dub techno into a steady groove, Rave Child revives the spirits of Warp and other beloved 90s brain dance institutions. The beat pulsates while calming synths transport you into the cosmos.
It’s a focused, ethereal tone that is hypnotic and otherworldly yet tethered to the beat without getting lost in the ambiance. Rave Child has crafted a track perfectly suited for the twilight zones between the waking and dreaming world; put on your headphones and dive in for a brief, trance-inducing journey.
‘Planeta Próprio’ EP is scheduled for release on 31st May via Kokölò. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
