As a producer originating from the DiY punk scene, Vincent Koreman’s work as Drvg Cvltvre has often erred on the side of the chaotic. Most recently, releases on Dutch electro imprint Shipwrec and M>O>S Recordings fiercer offshoot COS_MOS have tapped into the more aggressive side of Roland’s iconic box of acid sounds. His latest release, This Place Of Wrath And Tears, dials down the frenzy somewhat without losing any bite. Rubbery kicks, shoulder shaking swaying rhythms and enthralling electronics combine to make an EP that warms and smoulders from end to end.
With a street date of Monday 9th March 2015, this release will be available digitally and on vinyl, the former including an extra pair of tracks. Since this is collection where you’re going to want to have the full array available in both dance floor bombs and home listening scenarios, fledgling label Omnidisc – whose initial roster also featuring Danny Daze and Cliff Lothar is a statement of quality intent – have taken the savvy option of allocating secret download links for their vinyl purchasers.
When it has come to the heart rendering decision over picking favourites for the exclusive Inverted Audio stream of This Place Of Wrath And Tears, thankfully this has been wrested from our control; the full EP is up for streaming right now on the embedded Soundcloud link.
Go. Enjoy. Hit the shops on Monday.
