Walton lays down a hefty mix for Newtype Rhythms

The latest episode of our sister mix series provides suitable heft in the form of a guest mix from bass heavyweight producer Walton, fresh off of a four-track ‘Abyss‘ EP released on Pinch’s Tectonic imprint.

The legend of this UK-based talent has traversed amongst multiple labels in just a few years – with exemplary material put out on Hyperdub, Ilian Tape and Kaizen respectively. With each passing release, Walton’s growth as an artist has simultaneously shown itself by integrating sonic signatures and throwing in rhythmically-charged surprises with vigor.

In times where it seems visibility is keen in every avenue but the dancefloor, Walton keeps his focus strictly towards the listener, encouraging them to interact with whichever narrative thread he decides to weave. It is when these threads come together that something truly magnificent takes place – in the form of a 100+ minute mix from the man himself for Newtype Rhythms. There’s no track list for this edition, but track-ID seekers will surely find some notable surprises amongst the heat that’s awaiting.
