Since their inception in 2019, Big Science Records have established themselves as an exciting new label pushing murkier strains of experimental club music. With slick graphic design by Warzou, each of their releases have been nothing less than on point.
For their next release, Warzou and Gil.Barte join forces, debuting a new project under the name Warzabart. On ‘Troll’, the duo focused on the use of modular equipment, recording the entire album in a single day, a fact that seems to emphasise their compatibility as collaborators.
Our pick from ‘Troll’ is the release’s title track. Emerging from a haze of static, ‘Troll’ is a fine summary of the duo’s approach across the album. The track’s industrial momentum will keep grimier dancefloors moving, though its gritty textures will no doubt keep listeners a little on edge.
