On Friday 20th December Behind This Wall host their final event of the year at Plastic People with an intimate DJ set from Club der Visionaere resident Nicolas Lutz.
If some of house music’s greatest records can be drawn in from its peripheries, then this should be a logical space for its most arresting DJs to exist in too. Nicolas Lutz has honed his impeccable tastes and technique across two decades and continents. Hailing from Montevideo he roved far and wide to broaden his craft until recently settling in Berlin, where, in spite of suffocating competition, he secured an alluring residency at Club der Visionaere, often described as the city’s true mecca for house and techno enthusiasts.
Without any production credits to fall back on, pursuing such a path requires something special; a rare quality that most of those lucky enough to have witnessed one of Nicolas’ sets would say he possesses in abundance. Having been recently added to the Toi Toi Musik family (London’s premier warehouse events) Nicolas is no stranger to the capital, he even drew muted comparison to a certain Ricardo Villalobos following a mesmerising performance in fabric’s room 3 which forced the venue to hold back their usual closing time; we are elated, therefore, to be showcasing him in another of London’s inviolable surrounds – Plastic People.
