This morning Hyperdub Records dropped a surprise 10″ from Burial featuring two new tracks of murky experimental electronics and quintessentially dystopian soundscapes.
‘Subtemple’ echoes the eternal Burial classic of ‘Pirates‘ resonating through a pared-down spectral gloom as his signature vox laments plunge the track further into corroded industrial bleakness. On the flip, the equally haunting and menacing ‘Beachfires’ carves out a nighttime encounter of post-apocalyptic neighbourhoods as you wind your way through the night from a bonfire’s flare to the other.
