Psssh Records is a new joint venture between Dauwd Al Hilali and Dave Redmond with art direction by visual artist Mauro Ventura.
The label launches today with the release of ‘Psssh 001‘ – the first in a trilogy of EP’s from Dauwd – signalling a shift from the sound that first brought him notoriety with releases on Ghostly International, Kompakt and on Ninja Tune off-shoot Technicolour.
Dauwd’s latest effort offers a more eclectic assemblage of sounds, incorporating tribal percussion, techno and deep house. To serve his sonorous ideas the ferocious, and retro tribal art direction of artist Mauro Ventura delivers the perfect cinematic vision of the EP.
