Marking three decades of activity, Dopplereffekt make their Tresor debut with Metasymmetry, a four-track extended player arriving 12 December.
Formed in the mid-90s and long associated with Gerald Donald of Drexciya, Dopplereffekt have built a legacy of meticulously engineered electronic music, fusing science, philosophy, and machine precision.
On Metasymmetry, Rudolf Klorzeiger and To-Nhan explore balance and contrast. The first and third tracks deliver what fans might expect – thrashing electro, jagged bleeps and arpeggios driving forward with cold momentum. In contrast, tracks two and four open into expansive ambient spaces, carried by breathless, almost angelic vocal textures. The duality mirrors the record’s concept: structure and transformation, rigidity and release.
Released through one of techno’s most iconic imprints, Metasymmetry finds Dopplereffekt at their most refined – austere, human, and timelessly hypnotic.
‘Metasymmetry’ EP is scheduled for release via Tresor on 12 December. Buy vinyl from Inverted Audio Record Store.
