Over two decades of operation, industry revered mastering and cutting studio Dubplates & Mastering are on the hunt for a new studio space in Berlin.
Announced earlier this month via Instagram, D&M unveiled that the building in which they are located, the same complex as the record store Hard Wax, has been sold off and that the new owner is terminating their lease in October 2023.
Established in 1995 by Basic Channel production duo Mark Ernestus and Moritz von Oswald, Dubplates & Mastering have become an institution in their own right by enriching and optimising the music of; Drexciya, Kraftwerk, Luke Slater, Oneohtrix Point Never, Ricardo Villalobos, Theo Parrish and hundreds more.
Over the years, Dubplates & Mastering have worked with many distinguished mastering technicians including Stefan Betke aka POLE, Robert Henke, Rashad Becker, Andy Mellwig, Andreas Lubich, Frederic Stader, Helmut Erler, Mike Grin – it is currently run by Christoph Grote-Beverborg and helmed by Kassian Troyer and Anne Taegert.
