Brian Foote and Izaak Schlossman Los Angeles-based imprint False Aralia returns in June with the third and fourth vinyl releases that further solidifies their penchant for abstract electronic music – navigating through dub ambient, rhythmic noise and experimental glitch.
False 03 introduces Externalism, a collaborative project presenting a suite of generative, slowly evolving downtempo tracks that explore the boundaries between chance and control. Merging algorithmic composition with a restrained yet emotive sensibility, Externalism captures a raw digital tactility that feels both systematic and deeply human.
False 04 offers a more drum focussed counterpart to the latter. Punctuated with staccato drum programming, Iri gram interweaves glacial minimalist electronics with two step beats and rhythmic noise resulting in a propulsive four tracker.
