Listen back to a kaleidoscopic guest mix from Michele Mininni on Newtype Rhythms

This weeks episode of Newtype Rhythms features a mix that’s seasonably appropriate – as the sun shines stronger and longer with each passing day, there has to be a soundtrack to support the incoming solstice. Enter a mix from Michele Mininni, a Southern Italian producer that has released works previously for the likes of Curle Recordings and Optimo Trax, and has most recently put out a 12″ on R&S Records, entitled “Rave Oscillations”.

While Mininni’s influences range from krautrock, post-rock and psychedelia, his mix for the Brooklyn-based radio show expands on the latter – focusing on carving a path towards a state of mind that’s filled with wondrous sounds and emotive incandescence – and with a track list that includes the likes of Carl Craig, Four Tet, Moritz Von Oswald and even Asa-Chang & Junray, you know something vibrant is coming about. Check out the mix at around the 28-minute mark, with resident Sheepshead providing the opening bells and whistles.
