Set for release this Friday, NYC-based sonic experimentalist Madteo will release a three-track extended player named ‘Str8 Crooked‘ through Portobello Roads’ iconic label and record store Honest Jon’s.
Following in the footsteps of two cassette mixes release through Origins People and Demdike Stare’s imprint, plus his ‘Dropped Out Sunshine‘ LP via DDS in 2019, Madteo’s forthcoming 12-inch features artwork designed by Will Bankhead and “three dazzling re-routings of Detroit machine funk — Moodymann in particular — into deep mid-Atlantic co-minglings with raw, old-school hip-hop and house.”
