The latest episode of our sister mix series Newtype Rhythms features a sweeping guest mix of frequencies courtesy of London-based artist Moiré.
After releases for the likes of Ghostly, Ninja Tune and Rush Hour – the sonically-elusive beat maker returns after a four-year hiatus with a brand-new LP on Hypercolour, entitled ‘Good Times‘.
Moving effortlessly between lo-fi electronics, juxtaposing jazz elements and hydraulic house rhythms, Moiré delivers an LP that hones in on his eccentricities whilst bearing fruit in the form of collaborating with fellow artist Demigod for much of the journey. The pairing of the two signifies a burgeoning impact that’s to come sooner than later on dancefloors, as it surely does look like that this year will feature a close-quarters reunion of sonic bliss on a dance floor near you.
It’s with that genuine pleasure that we share this episode of sister series with you; as Moiré delivers a memorable session imbued with immersive energies, pulsating percussive patterns and crackling excitement from the first moment to the last. His guest mix starts at around 40 minutes, in with resident Sheepshead starting things up per usual.
There is no track list for this episode, track IDs will be acknowledged upon request in the Soundcloud comments section. ‘Good Times’ LP is out now via Hypercolour. Order a copy from Bandcamp.
