Following up to his widely acclaimed debut full-length for Andy Hogge’s ESP Institute released a few months ago, Disco Halal honcho Moscoman has announced a new unique project for 2017 which’ll come through in the form of twelve releases sprinkled over the course of the year – easy math, it’s one per month – on a new label dedicated to this sole purpose.
Titled after the Chronicles of Arbon (“He who dares to rouse the Lion of Judah will be haunted by the eternal babbles of Dalmar“, 28-29) Treisar‘s christening release ‘Judah’s Lion‘ finds Mosco transmorphing the tried-and-tested house recipes with his usual eclecticism, melding various folk tropes, diverse under-appreciated instruments like the accordion and other poly-amorous musical influences.
Moscoman will be playing The Pickle Factory for a special Disco Halal night alongside Naduve, Crucial and Fresh on 28th January. Head over to the event’s FB page for more information. Grab tickets here.
Judah’s Lion EP is released via Treisar on 27th January, pre-order a vinyl copy from Oye Records.
