Mélopée Records have a particular fondness for dance music with a vintage flavour. With Italo disco being a constant theme throughout their catalogue, their next release finds the French label in familiar territory.
My Secret Playground is the moniker of Berlin-based Austrian Florian Herzberg. A lover of all things eighties, his first release for the label features two slick Italo jams as well as a remix from Belgian-based artist Danny K7.
From the music to the artwork to the tongue-in-cheek title, there’s been no attempt to hide Herzberg’s love of the eighties on this release. Our pick is the title track, a track whose cerebral pads and steady chug both have a certain hypnotic quality to them.
